Are you saying edmunds says you should pay $2,500 over sticker? That's just stupid. Maybe that includes tax and title but it still sounds awfully high.
There isn't a huge amount of negotiations skill that needs to go into the purchase of a brand new car. Honestly, on that car, just shoot for four or five grand less than sticker. (if we were talking about a new Kia Rio I'd say shoot for about $800 less than sticker, there's more profit on more expensive cars.) The only real key is to go in there and take your time. Make the sales person go up to his manager ten times if you have to. Start outrageously low with your first offer and work in small increments up as they work in small increments down. On a new car you also have to consider rebates that will change from month to month and financing, a 0% promotion can save you several thousand over five years.
Now for my real advice, find a used 2009 g37x and save several thousand over anything you could ever get new.
