What has happened to Nascar ?(please read before answering)?

I,at one time,was a huge Nascar fan. I live less than an hour from Charlotte,NC where all the shops. I was raised watching it everytime it was on. I would go to the races everytime they were in town. I even fixed up a little u-car racecar and raced at Caraway Speedway for a few years because I loved the sport and wanted to be part of it anyway I could. But now, I don't have the stomach to watch it. It is so dry with no personallity. When Kyle Busch is your face for the sport then you are in trouble. What happened to the homegrown drivers ? I raced against drivers at Caraway Speedway that I know could win in Nascar. Tommy Lemonds Jr. for one. But he will never get a chance because his family doesn't have the money to get him noticed. That is why this sport is full of rich punks with very little talent. I do believe my mother could outdrive some of those guys. I never thought I would give up on nascar , but I have. How do you guys feel ?

Well some of the things that have changed has taken the excitement away. The Chase for one takes the excitement away from 2/3 of the season. It's not until the last 1/3 of the season does it become real racing and that is only for fans of drivers in the top 12 in points once the chase starts. All other drivers are immediately marked as losers for the last 1/3 of the season.

Also Bristol has lost it's character. With the lucky dog rule and the multi groves in that track my driver lost the race on lap one. There's a serious flaw with the system there. He got lapped on lap one and after that you could count him as lost the race even though he had a fast car.

Kyle isn't the problem with NASCAR. The problem is NASCAR has regulated the cars to such an extent that they can't be competitive. Once one team has an advantage then 2/3 of the season is ruined because a team has an advantage. That's not Kyles fault. Kyle is there to win just like everone else. That's NASCAR's fault for being such idiots.

There has also been times where the weather just ruined the races. Between that and the dumb stuff there has been no room for excitement.

I feel your pain. I think NASCAR has lost a lot of it's appeal myself. If things don't get better I will quit watching myself. The most entertainment I've seen this year is a replay of the fight last night at the truck race, the incident between Kyle and Carl, Jimmie Johnson's win, and the rain tires in Montreal. That's sad.
