Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI chipping/remapping?
I have a 2003 Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI, which I would like to get a bit more performance out of, and I was wondering what was the best way to go about it! First off, I have just had to have a new clutch (+ CARM unit), as well as getting the injector seals done, so would these have an impact on any of the options.
Secondly, I am unsure whether to go for a remap or chip/tuning box. I have seen people rave about both of these on the internet, so what would people recommend for this car.
Finally, has anyone got any good or bad experiences about companys offering either of these options.

It is possible to get a simple plug in device that goes in between the common rail plug and "remaps" the fuel pressure. These are said to deliver more power.
HOWEVER I would be cautious. A diesel engine is designed to be torquey and low revving, the difference on a 1.4 TDCi would be negligible. Add to that the cost of the unit (£75 and upwards) plus you MUST inform your insurance or that will be invalid too.
Too much fuel or an incorrect spray pattern will result in "bore wash" which will remove the oil and lead to rapid wear and further expense. Bear in mind that the 1.4 TDCi has 75BHP as standard (only 9 down on a MK2 Fiesta XR2) and it's lighter too do you really need more power? You can remap for torque but that's a whole other issue.
I really don't think it's worth the time or expense on what is really a small car designed for fuel efficiency.
