Where can I find a Baja Bug in Florida?
Does anyone know where I can find old Volkswagen Beetle's in Florida? I have been looking all over and I can't get my hands on one. I am wanting to get one so I can convert it into a Baja Bug. I am in Bradenton, Florida so the closer to that the better. Thanks for the help.
Try http://www.thesamba.com/ or Craigslist. If you want to convert it to a Baja Bug, look for a 1962-1964 model (they don't have the weak split-case transaxle, and they're more structurally rigid than the 1965 and newer models). Watch out for rust in the battery tray, around the rear window, and in the heater channels.
