trying to sell my car, any advice?
i own a 2004 limited music edition volkswagen beetle. its satellite blue. it looks new and runs perfect, nothing has gone wrong with it. has 68,000 miles on it. heated cloth seats, side mirror defrosters, cd player, am fm stero. blue seats. very cute!!! I have $13,846 left on my loan but i cant afford the payments anymore with the economy. but, kelly blue book put it at $11,000. so i would like to sell it myself. any advice on doing this?
You really cannot sell it - the problem is that since it is a financed vehicle, the lien holder has the title and they will not release the title until the vehicle is paid for in full. Your choices are to (1) see if the finance company will lower your payments and/or extend the length of the loan or (2) voluntarily take the vehicle back to the finance co.........the drawback to returning the vehicle is that they will sell the car, and you are still responsible for the remainder of the balance between the sold price and the loan balance........these are you options ;[
