04 volkswagen new beetle tdi wont start?!?!?
I have tried changing the oil, diesel filter, air filter, 109 relay, replaced the fuel pump (the one in the tank), and it still wont run it will occasionally turn over but die once all the diesel runs out the filter, there is also no diesel entering the filter at all i have to keep pouring diesel into the filter just to keep it running any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
p.s i also hear a slight noise from the front fuel pump but nothing from the back
Gummed up injectors maybe? It's possible that the lines have become clogged as well. The previous poster's idea of the ASV isn't a bad one, but I don't know that the ASV would stop the car from getting fuel to the filter... Have you checked all of the wiring going to the in tank lift pump, it's possible you missed a ground wire or something when reinstalling the new pump. It sounds like you've already done a good job of checking most of the common fault areas. I hope the car is running on regular diesel or a small % of Bio, not WVO or SVO or any of that junk.
Do you have Vag-com/VCDS? Is the car throwing any codes?
Unfortunately I'm not all that good with the PDs, I've got a 1Z '97 Passat, an '01 ALH Golf, and a '10 CR Golf in the family, but we've never tried the PD TDIs.
